Bettany Hughes

**Award-Winning Historian, Author and Broadcaster** Bettany will be presented with the Fem 21 International Journalism Award for her ‘exceptional contribution to the international coverage of the place of women in societies past and present’ and the Distinguished Friend of Oxford University Award in recognition of ‘exceptional academic work for the benefit of the University, its colleges and departments. In 2012 she was chair of the International Orange Prize for Fiction. In 2015 she will judge the PEN prize for Literature.
